Interactive Brokers IPO Prices at $30

So I have been allocated 200 shares! Looks like they'll start trading on Friday.

Actually, Interactive Brokers (Nasdaq: IBKR) priced at $30.01 per share. Yes, there is a difference! I've heard from some people who put in bids at $30, but won't be allocated any shares because they are a penny short.

I put in an order for 800 shares (at $31 and above) through E*TRADE, but was allocated only 400 shares. My broker's policy is to do a random allocation when there aren't enough shares to go around, so I wonder if any individual got more than 500 shares in total.

This morning's MarketWatch article indicated that the clearing price for IBKR was $33. Not surprisingly, that is approximately the price where IBKR started trading.

The e-mail I got from IB siad $30 but yes it was $30.01. Bet there were a lot of $30 orders excluded. Sometimes when setting stops I set the stop 1-5 cents beyond the roudn number ofr a similar reason. Been doing some daytrades on IBKR. Started OK... but then it started going down... will be a full report eventually. Seems like it is trying to stage a rebound at the moment.

doesn't seem like a popular stock. its been going straight down.

did someone say vonage?

It's certainly not a Vonage as it is making rising piles of money. I'm guessing this Dutch Auction approach screwed things up. I really should never have raised my initial bid and certainly not tried to trade it etc. etc. Another painful lesson!
