$400,000

Yes my net worth is now above $400,000. But there are no guarantees that I'll still be here at the end of the month for the reasons I discussed in my post about exceeding half a million Australian Dollars. Nice to see that 4 at the beginning of the number :)

Looking at the chart in your previous post, that is a pretty impressive rate of increase in your net worth.

(If you don't mind my asking), how much of that is due to return on investment and how much is due to savings?

I found that I started out with savings making up the bulk of my net worth increase but the portion attributable to investments increased as time went by and my net worth grew.

Great question - currently it is coming about 80% from investment returns. I'll post an updated chart of the breakdown for the entire period of the NetWorthIQ data.

Hey M congrats! It's fun seeing the balance sheet grow, and it's really fun when it turns big numbers (e.g. 400k,500k). Do you think you will have asset allocation breakdown in future balance sheet posts? always interesting to see what comprises others' balance sheets.

Thanks! After this afternoon, I don't feel very smart. I report the rough stock/bonds etc. breakdown in each monthly report. Occasionally I've posted my whole monthly spreadsheet that has each investment on it. Most are Australian and so not a lot of interest to most US investors. The NetWorthIQ page shows the basic breakdown. The "retirement" portion is in four funds plus a tiny amount of trading:

CFS Conservative Fund (bonds+stock Australia)
TIAA Real Estate
CREF Bond Market
Hussman Strategic Growth Fund.

So it's very conservative currently.

Congrats! That's a significant milestone.
